I don’t know about you, but I never could have imagined that one of the most divisive subjects we’d come to face as a society just a few years ago would involve wearing face coverings in public. Then again, I’m not exactly surprised at all either, but it’s still a topic that would have sounded like science fiction if proposed even just 6 months ago. What a time to be alive!
All joking aside though, we’re really not going to take this time to tell you why you should wear a face mask in public. We feel like the evidence that’s out there speaks for itself, so we’d rather have the scientists and medical experts present all the facts and their findings, and we’ll stick to our expertise: rock merch. But really, even if you somehow don’t agree that face masks work, can you just ask yourself one simple question: what can wearing one hurt? The answer is…NOTHING! So, just wear your damn mask and quit complaining! No one likes a Karen (or Ken), and really – you don’t want to be the next viral sensation after your next Trader Joe’s or Target run, do you? Didn’t think so.
Alrighty, so now that we have the politics out of the way, let’s get down to why we’re REALLY here then: officially licensed rock, heavy metal and punk band face masks! Because even if you somehow don’t want to protect yourself and/or or others (*cough*selfish*cough*), you should really just wear these because they’re completely badass. And we guarantee we have the biggest selection of music masks out there, most of which are exclusive to us. I mean, would you just take a look at this list? We literally have something for every fan imaginable:
- Alice Cooper (exclusive design)
- Biohazard (2 exclusive designs)
- Body Count (4 designs)
- Cypress Hill (10 designs)
- D.R.I. (2 exclusive designs)
- The Damned (3 exclusive designs)
- Digital Underground (3 designs)
- Disturbed
- Doobie (3 designs)
- The Doors (exclusive design)
- Dr. Octagon (2 designs)
- EPMD (2 designs)
- FEAR (2 exclusive designs)
- Green Jelly/Green Jello (2 exclusive designs)
But hey, maybe you still don’t want to wear a traditional face mask because it’s just “not for” you, but you DO want to cover up still – then what? Well, lucky for you, we also happen to have the largest selection of officially licensed band bandanas you’re going to find. And keep in mind that this is just a small sample of what we actually carry. We simply have too many bands with bandanas to list them all in one blog post, but here are some standouts and worthy mentions:
- AC/DC
- Airbourne
- Amon Amarth
- Amorphis
- ASAP Rocky
- Billy Ray Cyrus (seriously)
- Black Label Society
- Black Sabbath
- Black Veil Brides
- Body Count
- Children Of Bodom
- Christina Aguilera (yup)
- Cypress Hill
- Dark Angel
- Deftones
- Dimmu Borgir
- DMX (still with us?)
- Down From The Mountain Concert Tour 2002 (pretend like you were there…or something)
- Ensiferum
- Ghost
- Goodie Mob
- Green Day
Whether you choose a face mask or a bandana, you’re still going to both get and give some protection, but what if it’s just not enough? What if you’re a medical worker (thank you!), or a hairstylist, or a tattooer, and you simply need to be fully protected at all times? Well, quite possibly the coolest product ever released in the band merch world that you never thought you’d need but now you can’t imagine a world without it, introducing…the official DEVO Energy Dome PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) Kit Face Shields. This thing went viral last month, thanks to sites like CNET, HYPEBEAST and New York Post all covering it, and we were lucky enough to procure a very small amount for sale on our own site. You’re welcome.
So yeah, although it completely sucks that we’re in the midst of a global pandemic and have to deal with stuff like this in the first place, let’s just make the best of it and help beat this thing once and for all. Besides, if bands like Ghost, Gwar, Mushroomhead and Slipknot can all play hours’ long live sets while wearing masks (and costumes), you can wear one when you go to the store. Because remember: NO ONE likes you, Karen.
Finally, we’d love to hear what bands YOU want to see make face masks! Iron Maiden face masks? Rush face masks? Whoever you want, request away – we’re all ears, and we'll try to make them happen for you.
