This blog post is about our least favorite subject on earth…politics.
Usually we stay far away from all things political, but seriously: is there anything better than the band merch that’s released during an Election Year? The 2016 cycle gave us the now iconic Municipal Waste “Trump” T-shirt, Iron Reagan’s “Hillary” tee, and our personal favorite: I Declare War’s brilliant mashup between Bernie Sanders and Larry David from Curb Your Enthusiasm.
But going back even further, NOFX launched an entire merch campaign back in the early 2000’s called “Rock Against Bush,” and still one of the most shocking band tees of all-time is Misfits’ “Kennedy Bullet,” which was first released all the way back in 1978! Which just goes to show that not only have bands been singing about politics for as long as music has been around, but they’ve also been releasing political-inspired merch designs for as long as band merch has been around too!
We’ll be honest though: in 2020, we expected a lot more bands to release some new controversial (but tongue-in-cheek of course) merch designs, especially given how crazy the political climate in the United States is right now. But no one really did. So instead, we thought we’d release a couple “For President 2020” designs ourselves, from two of our most favorite heavy metal artists of all-time: The Madman himself – Ozzy Osbourne, and Megadeth’s mascot Vic Rattlehead.
Which one would YOU vote for? Cast your vote by placing an order, and wearing your choice to the polls! But if neither of them are your thing, check out ALL our political designs (from guys like Frank Zappa, Keith Richards and Les Claypool) HERE: https://rockabilia.com/collections/presidential-election-2020.
No matter what you believe or who you believe in, just remember to VOTE! And whatever happens, we’ll see ya on the other side of all this craziness.
-Rockabilia
Municipal Waste are aptly named.
Hey Chris, maybe they shouldn’t sell the Municipal Waste shirt or Misfits shirt with those images. Keep your political views out of it Biden lover
Hey Sue, you know Rockabilia didn’t create the Municipal Waste design… The band did. They see that donald is a cancer on this planet. You should too.
Make sure yous print a Municipal waste shirt with Biden’s face on it, equal disrespect! Shameful!!
