Fans of the early-'80s techno-pop outfit Devo are about to get an upgrade. Three boys and two girls ages 10 to 13 have joined the original band to re-record 10 of Devo's singles, including its trademark hit Whip It, for Devo 2.0. The CD/DVD collection also includes some "revamped" lyrics, as well as Devo's first new songs in 15 years. Founding Devo singer/bassist/keyboardist Gerald Casale says that the young musicians, some of whom were familiar with his old music through their parents and musical role models, were chosen from about 1,000 contenders over a three- to four-month period.
