The present LP comprises material from two 1960 sessions. One song, �West Coast Blues�, features Harold Land (who was the nominal leader of the date) and trumpeter Joe Gordon, plus the rhythm section. On all other tracks, the format is a quintet with James Clay on flute and tenor sax, and Montgomery as the leader, plus the Cannonball Adderley Quintet rhythm section of that period: Victor Feldman on piano (who had replaced Bobby Timmons after a short stint by Barry Harris), Sam Jones on bass, and Louis Hayes on drums.
