In mid-1957, composer and arranger Manny Albam produced two albums under the title Manny Albam and the Jazz Greats of Our Time, each of which reunited spectacular jazz stars. The first volume included the likes of Art Farmer, Gerry Mulligan, Bob Brookmeyer, Phil Woods, Zoot Sims, Al Cohn and Hank Jones, among others (this has been reissued on LP as FSST110). The current album presents the second volume, featuring Richie Kamuca, Jack Sheldon, Bill Holman, Conte Candoli, Charlie Mariano, Herb Geller, Lou Levy, and Harry ''Sweets'' Edison.
